About Larry

Larry Bottjen has been taking pictures of life since he first held a Kodak in his hands at the age of 11 years old and stood in the fields of Minnesota clicking pictures of an approaching tornado. Larry began his formal education aimed at becoming a professional photographer, but switched gears to pursue a career in education.

Larry first arrived in Alaska in 1975, to begin that career as a public school teacher. Through the years, Larry not only worked with students, but he also led numerous staff development opportunities in the area of technology for teachers around Alaska. Larry has been very involved with the Alaska Society for Technology in Education and served as the organization's President and Conference Co-Chair in 2003. After teaching for over twenty years in both urban and rural schools, Larry quit to pursue his interests in emerging technology. He worked for various technology corporations for a short time, including Apple Computer, CompuCom and others before settling on his original passion in life-recording real life events.

Larry formed DVD Technology in 1999 and has been creating video documentaries, producing dvds and editing movies since then.

Larry's second life also began when he first arrived in Alaska, as he was a founding member of the Valley Performing Arts in Wasilla which has been producing live theatrical events for over 30 years. Larry has directed and performed in dozens of plays and musicals at VPA which blends perfectly with his work in producing commercials, creating DVD documentaries, and recording events. Teaching + Theater + Technology.
The three "T"s that have consumed Larry's life are the building blocks for Larry's company, DVD Technology.
